Today is all about happiness.

There's an interesting article in the Science Times yesterday about the positive psychology movement and the researcher who now believes that "well-being" or "flourishing" are useful terms for describing human happiness.

He goes on to say that "...well-being is a combination of feeling good as well as actually having meaning, good relationships and accomplishments."

Check out my friend Gretchen Rubin's blog about the subject of happiness and how to have more of it at The Happiness Project. I respect how she approaches the subject with a lot of authentic research and personal commitment, and how she helps people find their own definitions and pathways to happiness.

I'm still working on rolling out this blog and getting it into the shape of my liking. I have to say that it has brought me a lot of happiness as defined above. Thank you all for visiting ArrghPtoo!

  1. Fabulous.
We have a nest of bluebirds in our lemon tree. I think it's meaningful...

  2. If life gives you lemons and bluebirds... I don't know why but for some reason that sounds delicious.

  3. I decided to check what you did for my birthday (May 1 - no words necessary), and my mother's birthday (May 19). Interesting - my mother's maiden name is Byrd. And, like the ideal bird of happiness, even in her 70's, flits from friend to friend providing comfort, a shoulder, love, wisdom, wit, and companionship to her friends and those in need. I'm lucky to have her as an example!

  4. Calley, your mother sounds a lot like mine. I feel lucky to have her in my life too. And, I'm tickled that you would look to see what I drew on her birthday -- and on yours as well. I think that's a trend that should spread! Thanks for sharing.
